If you’d indulge me – as if you reading this blog isn’t humoring me enough, I know – I need a little assistance. Would you comment or email and tell me which posts of mine you’ve enjoyed, which topics you wanted to hear more about, which issues you felt had more meat to them than I included here? I’m writing offline and wondering if there are snippets of goodness in this here site, pieces I can expand and explore in further depth. Can you help?
If I may make a request, please don’t pick any of the ones about Celine Dion.
All my advance thanks.

Most all of what you write on relationships, you cut right thru the heart sometimes. I love the dependable laugh and usual lift that brings me back to your site..but that’s what stays with me.
Oooh … the one where you went to the Dirty Dancing vacation spot for Christmas with your mom and sister. There’s plenty there !
This is tough because what I like most about your writing is your style and not necessarily one particular subject.
If I had to choose, though, I’d say some of my favorite posts of yours are the ones that talk about relationships, with both love interests and your family.
i loved your post, ‘if i’d married X, if I’d married Z.’ beautifully done, really well-written. excellent.
i also love “update” posts involving stories about the fam, holidays, funny/not funny weekend stories. i’m a sucker for posts on dating/relationship because i’m female. i really do love all of your posts & am consistently entertained.
i also LOVE bad date stories in general. Love them. always humorous.
thank you so much for writing in this blog. i really love reading it and get really happy when i see a new post.
I’m relatively new to your blog; I was attracted to the title, which make me laugh everytime I read it. I haven’t read that many posts but I really liked the one about your christmas in the old-school resort. Your descriptions of your family were so interesting it could’ve been fiction.
I agree with the above comment – your trip with your mom and sis sounded like it has excellent potential for expansion. Also, don’t know how much you want to write about this but your posts about your father have been truly remarkable. I don’t comment on all of them, most of the time because I don’t know what to say besides…wow. Good luck with the writing – I have vowed to write more this year also.
It might be too soon to write more about your father, but there’s more for you to write there.
I agree that the trip with your mother and your sister has the makings of a short book in itself.
I think you should also look at some of your best recurring tropes – then men in that little box under your bed? That’s an extended essay right there.
Independence and love are major themes for you. I’m not sure where you’ll go with them, but I know you’ll go a long way.
I’ve always loved where you’ve gone with your blog; I can’t wait to see where paper takes you.
I found your blog by way of Kristina Wright three months ago, so I haven’t the experience with your blog other readers here do, but your best posts by far were “Call It A Day” and “Marking Time.”
Thank you.

I really like the stuff that’s heavy on the snark, like your letter to the electric company. And the self-deprecating stuff is great too. That post about your refrigerator contents was classic. And of course, anything involving too much vino is bound to be quality material. You’re doin’ great sweetie!
right now my favourite is the one with the photos of your fridge. I got back to that and have shared it friends. When you find random things or insert random things–like the AA batteries in your open letter… it’s those tiny things that make me take out a writing utensil and make a mark sometimes and makes me say to myself–use that later–it was damned funny!
yes! the fridge contents. that was hilarious! i forgot about that one.
I pop in here regularly and find something that either resonates with me, makes me laugh, or makes me ponder.
Stop doubting, keep writing.
bug and his missing leg. and crick too.
fridge contents was Best Post Ever. More snarkyness, please and thank you.
Your father.
I also think you once wrote a post about me back in 2006. If you expand on that, I would appreciate it.
It’s all good. That’s why I keep going back here for more.
I love your posts about family. I have enjoyed the honesty of your posts about love and dating- also love talk of the cats and wine of course.
I remember this post resonating with me when I first read it “on doing the right thing”, but I like all your posts about relationships, very true and beautifully written.
I very much enjoy your wit in general though, so anything you write about is a pleasure to read.
The first post that I read of yours was titled something like “I’ll tell you when you can have sex”. I was hooked. Great writing, great humor.
I love your wit and enjoy just about everything you write.
You guys are little loves. Brad, this was the post. I’d forgotten I’d written it: http://www.notyetawino.com/2008/07/oh-i%E2%80%99ll-tell-you-when-you%E2%80%99ll-have-sex-again/
The posts about your Dad always leave me teary-eyed. That you are able to inspire tears in another is indicative that this would be a subject to elaborate on.
But I really do love them all. Each and every one.
I love pretty much everything, especially the “What’s wrong with Me” and “I never said it would always be funny” stuff.
This one’s good: http://www.notyetawino.com/2005/12/sounds-of-silence/
I like the ones about me.
I might just be speaking for myself here, but I’d like to see more posts about gonorrhea.
Sweets, you could write about how to correctly hang toilet paper and it’d be interesting.
I love all the ones about your Dad. But for funny, I like the one about “Herding Cats”. It applies to softball teams, work, and families. You could expand that concept easily.
I have “mending”, “on bailing”, and “on doing the right thing” bookmarked in my favorites because I love them so much.
oooh oooh oooh, what a fun task.
two favorite posts:
frustration, not to be confused with desperation (this one i printed out and now resides on my refrigerator)
addendum (the if i married x game)
topics i most enjoy reading about:
any and all
I always enjoyed your reflections on your father… very honest, open and beautiful.
I like your commentary on your single lifestyle and items in your life that define said lifestyle. I think the best line that still cracks me up is the one about yogurt in the refrigerator: “Yoplait or mine?” Then there’s all the talk about your cats too. I like your humorous take on the physical world around you.
I don’t think I could pick just one thing you write well, or that moves me, or is inspiring. Sorry, I realize that isn’t helping you very much, but it’s true. =-)
Good grief, Kris, how am I supposed to pick? They are all interesting, to me anyway. That is NOT a cop out. SHUT UP.
Your writing regarding loss of a parent is strangely comforting; I wouldn’t want to read similar posts every day, but when they show up, they provide a connection to a feeling long ago that I don’t have in my regular life.
Even though they bring a tear to my eye, your posts about your dad are wonderful. Probably because I lost my dad seven years ago and am still moved to tears when I think about it.
And I love love LOVE hearing about your kids. You know, the fur people you live with.
But let’s face it, you’re a good writer, so any new post is a good one. Word.
I would like to concur that the relationship posts are my favorite reads. You are like a funnier, smarter Carrie Bradshaw. Love your writing, thanks for sharing.
I just stumbled upon your site via The Daily Coyote, and find that I am now hooked. I so enjoy your style of writing. I look forward to reading more.
Avid Reader for awhile now. The one that hooked me was a post where your mother was referring to those “women who don’t wear pantyhose” and all their shame!
The refrigerator post was one of my favorites and anything about Bug & Cricket. I like all of your posts but I do think you do write about your single life and the dating scene well.
