“Interesting” is a good word for that last one. I can think of a few others.

That was quite the piece of propaganda in the last photo!

    Beautiful roses though

If financial security is the motivating factor in this piece of propaganda (nice call myself!), let’s look a bit deeper.

Partnered white gay men earn the most. What? Earn the most! Ah, the implications.

    Heh.
In Canada we seem to make LESS money.
    And if we have kids…

    Well…

Let’s just say that there’s not really as much incentive after the first year…

    You gotta wonder.

I’ve heard that one from some coworkers. I respond that I don’t view marriage as a money-making proposition. Makes it a little similar to prostitution, doesn’t it?

Instead of “marriage works” at the bottom, it should say “and the government takes it all. The marriage penalty- it’s a bitch”.

    I mean, for real.

Ah, money. Always THE reason to get married.

    Is there any other?

If you click the image to enlarge it, the poster is by: marriageworksUSA.com. Following the link the Originating organization is the Campaign For Our Children (CFOC), which, if you keep following is a Non-profit organization devoted to “encouraging healthy responsible decision-making among adolesents and improving the well being of children and families by reducing teen pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections.”

This from an article in “Mid Atlantic Match Point” a tennis magazine article about it’s founder (and avid tennis fan) Hal Donofrio a retired advertising executive (read Partner) Supposedly, this ad is directed to teens in a “value added” approach.

If I’m reading this right, the actual client is the Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, who,in turn is promoting Abstinence education. I think this is a case of your federal dollars at work!

Curiously, the address given for the Organization is the home for a lot of law firms and lobbyists. Go Figure.

Thank goodness someone is finally coming out in support of married people. Now if only someone would start advocating for people with kids. People With Kids our silent shame.

If only those kids were really silent.

How stupid. i get what anon up there is saying and all, but it’s just a stupid, myoppic ad that needlessly labels and alienates, thus rendering itself completely ineffective.

Sheesh. It felt good to get that off my chest. I love it anytime I get to use the word “myopic.”

…and a day later, I’m sorry I bothered with the sign.
The roses though, wow, mmm, those smell good. The first thing I shoulda done was stop for those. Here, I stole you one. Er, uh, I mean I saved this one for you that somehow had mysteriously fallen off…

Married people do earn more money – until the wife gets pregnant. Then they’re broke and have to figure out how to feed and clothe the kids. So for the sake of honesty in advertising, it should say: “DINKS make more money.”

“Marriage works…” about half of the time…

    Yikes…

Shocking that was in DC and not in Utah where marriage is an expectation at 18, by 22 you’re a spinster…
