My father passed away this morning. I trust that there will be much for me to say after the haze lifts and the tears abate, likely more than I’ll be able to capture here. When I say I loved this man more than words, I didn’t really think I could mean it literally.
I wish you had been lucky enough to know him too.

I miss my dad too! It’s been 10 years but every so often I will think of some of the things he told me, or some situation will come up & I just know what he would say. Grief, for me has mostly been replaced with fond rememberance.
I will remember both our fathers in my prayers tonight.
Remember that your father, like mine wants nothing but the best for you and to carry on as he did.

Kris, I’m very sorry for you. I lost my dad the day after I graduated from college in a motorcycle accident. Nothing prepares you for this, I hope you and your family will be OK. It’ll be 8 years this May and I still miss my dad every day but telling stories about him, even dumb little things helps. Write about him as much as you can. If I could hug you, I would.

I lost my own father just over a year ago. Mom a few years before that. Losing a parent is…well…there are no words and yes, it does leave a rent in the fabric that can’t be repaired. The finality of it all. My thoughts are with you. I know you mourn.
